Myriam A. Rafla is a graduate of the Communication Studies department at Concordia University. Her research-creation thesis, Quilting the Memoir: The Cultural Imaginaries of Egyptian Jewry, explores digital storytelling practices through a time-based media installation that examines life stories, illustrated with digital memory quilts. Her research interests include visual narratology, film, and cultural memory studies.

A former professor at Dawson College, Myriam Rafla is currently the Regional Feature Film Executive for the English-language market in Quebec at Telefilm Canada. She lives and works in Montreal, Quebec.
